Clarion Area Agency on Aging

Independence and dignity for Clarion County older adult

16 Venture Lane Clarion, PA 16214

Personal Care Services

Personal Care Services consist of “hands-on” activities provided by a trained, supervised caregiver. Services may include assistance with personal hygiene, feeding, adaptive devices, grooming, ambulation, transfers, and medication management. A care manager makes a home visit to determine need and the appropriate services to be arranged and provided.

Family Caregiver Support Program

This program provides care management services, benefits counseling, and financial support for a primary caregiver. Reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses such as respite care and supplies and one-time grants for renovation are available. Reimbursement is based on income.

Adult Day Care

Referral is available for Adult Day Care for spouses and families of older adults who may need additional supervision for a longer period of time. Activities are available within a state-licensed facility.

Legal Assistance

The agency works with local attorneys who provide education and training for consumers and staff on legal issues confronting older adults.

A trained care manager, along with medical practitioners, determines whether guardianship is appropriate for a vulnerable consumer, and secures court appointed guardianships.

Medical Equipment and Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)

AAA assists with providing for the purchase of durable medical equipment and supplies, as needed by consumers in their homes. The agency can aid in securing an appropriate medical alarm (PERS) worn by the consumer.

Environmental Modifications

AAA assists with arrangements to complete the adaptation of consumer homes to facilitate living in their own home and improve safety, sanitation and adaptability of the home. The need for modification is determined by the care manager and Rehabilitation Specialist.
