• 10-week health promotion program that strategically combines the fun game of bingo with exercise and falls prevention education; designed to increase functional performance, health knowledge, cognition, and social engagement of older adults in a variety of settings.

CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT

▪ Improve the health status of individuals with chronic health conditions ▪ Teach practical skills for managing with chronic health conditions ▪ Help participants gain confidence and motivation needed to manage every day challenges of living with chronic health conditions.

DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT

▪ Improve the health status of individuals with diabetes ▪ Teach practical skills for managing diabetes ▪ Help participants gain confidence and motivation needed to manage every day challenges of living with diabetes

HEALTHY STEPS FOR OLDER ADULTS

▪ Healthy Steps for Older Adults (HSOA) provides screening, assessment, and education to reduce the incidence of falls.

TAI CHI

Developed by Dr. Paul Lam, the program utilizes Tai Chi’s Sun style for its ability to improve relaxation and its ease of use for older adults, the movements are taught side to side and with turns to move forward to improve mobility and offer a variety of combinations

ARTHRITIS AQUATICS (YMCA)

▪ Warm water exercise program suitable for every fitness level, shown to reduce pain, and improve overall health. Exercises include range of motion, muscle strengthening, socialization activities and an optional moderate intensity aerobic component.

GERI-FIT (YMCA)

▪ An ongoing, 45- minute, twice-weekly progressive resistance strength training exercise program. ▪ Increases strength, flexibility, range of motion, mobility, gait and balance.
